2.内容：

Last week,we did a survey about different kinds of transportation.We asked students about their favorite kinds of transportation.Here are some of the results.Most students come to school by bike and they like riding bikes.Of course,bikes are cheaper than cars and buses.Some students like cars because they are safer than bikes. Cars are also faster than bikes and buses.Among some students,buses are not .However,not many people can afford a car.

Teaching procedure:

Step 1: Warming-up

1. Greetings.

2. Have a free talk with students to talk about the transportation they usually use in their daily life and let students to express their feelings of different transportation.

Step 2: Presentation

1. Ask students to read the passage and find the sentence that compare the difference between different transportation and write down them on the black board.

2. Lead students to observing the sentences and find out the similar part of the sentences.

3. Summarize the answers and conclude the structure and function of comparative degree

Step 3:Practice

1. Ask students to fill in the blank on the blackboard, to change the adjective into the right form.

2. Let students translate some sentences into English by using the grammar point.

Step4: Production

Survey:Let students do a survey in a group of 4 talk about the transportation they use and make some comparison about different transportation

Step 5: Summary and Homework

Summary: Ask a student to conclude the content of the lesson and summarize with the whole class.

Homework: Ask students to find write more sentences to describe the change by using the comparative

As far as I am concerned, the comparative degree is a comparative form of an adjective, this phenomenon is often used when we want to make comparison of two things. And the form of it is usually the adjective+er, if the word is a multisyllable word , we always plus the word ‘more’ or ‘less’ in front of the adjectives. This knowledge is very important for junior high school students and the comprehending of this knowledge connects some knowledge between primary school and junior high school. So we should pay enough attention to the knowledge.

2.What’s the importance of discussion in class?

Discussion in class can improve the teaching effects. Firstly, if students are allowed to have a discussion, they can understand some points in time and lay foundation for next step. Secondly, discussion can provide them more chances to practice their speaking English. Finally, discussions are designed to gather everyone’ idea and overcome some difficulties which can develop critical thinking ability and cultivate the cooperative spirit.
